“The Seven-point Plan”was devised by Professor Alex Rodger of the National Institute of Industrial Psychology in the 1950s and has proved to be the most popular model for personnel specifications in the United Kingdom. 

What are the general requirements for job in terms of:

a)      Physical Make-up, e.g. health, strength, energy and personal appearance 

b)      Attainments, e.g. education, training and experience 

c)      General Intelligence, e.g. thinking and mental effort 

d)      Special Aptitudes, e.g. skills need to be exercised in the job  

e)      Interests, e.g. personal interests could be relevant to the performance of the job 

f)      Disposition, e.g. personality  

g)     Circumstances, e.g. any special circumstances that the job requires of the candidates
